Join us on a fascinating journey to Transylvania. The road will take us through multicultural landscapes, learning about the multiethnic history and rich traditions of this beautiful part of Romania — tasting the best of local cuisine, meeting local craftspeople, and experiencing the unspoiled wild nature of Transylvania.
Experienced local guides will be on hand throughout your stay to help ensure your holiday runs smoothly and is full of wonderful, unique experiences.
ITINERARY
Day 1
We will meet in Sibiu - beautifully preserved medieval town in central Romania and transfer you to our village that will be our home for a week. Once in the picturesque village of Nucet you will meet up with our hosts, we will have relaxing evening with homemade local dinner and drinks. We will be staying in simple family run guesthouse with picturesque views.
Day 2
In the morning after breakfast we will explore wild nature of Nucet, we will have a relaxing walk around the village visiting local beekeeper and sites of natural beauty. After lunch will have a cooking workshop to prepare traditional Transylvanian meal with our host.
Day 3
After breakfast we will take a stroll to a train station and take a narrow gauge train to the nearby village Hosman, there we will be introduced to the social projects in the village, like bakery and creamery, visit fortified Saxon church and have an evening meal together before we drive back to our family guest house in Nucet.
Day 4
After delicious local breakfast, we will visit local porttery to learn more about this local craft, then we visit an art restorer and collector in village called Altina. We will visit his small private museum of local Romanian culture, we will have delicious lunch at his mums house. After lunch we will see one of the biggest private collections of traditional Romanian textiles and clothing from the end of 19th and beginning of 20th century and then we will have a delicious dinner with the family.
Day 5
We will go for a beautiful wildflower walk in the hills near village of Hosman. We will visit local shepherds, make cheese with them, and have a delicious picnic lunch with local shepherds before we return to the village.
Day 6
We will visit a bright and colourful flea market in Medias. Hopefully after successful buying trip we will have a tour in abandoned synagogue with our local guide. After lunch we will visit Victor and his family. They are copper craftsmen in 3 generation. His family is a first generation of Romani gypsies that settled and bought a house. We will make a copper bracelets , have a cup of tea with his family. And for dinner we visit Andreas organic vinery, we will be eating delicious organic food and drinking organic Romanian wine.
Day 7
We will visit beautiful village of Moville, have a walk through wildflower meadows, have a picnic lunch in the meadow and after we will visit beautiful fortified Saxon church from 13th century in Apold village
Farewell dinner with local Musicians will be waiting for us in the yard of the church.
Day 8
On the final day we will say good bye to our hosts in Noucet and we will open an afternoon in beautiful medieval town Sibiu. We will be staying in the local hotel for last night. In the afternoon we will have a city tour around Sibiu before we retire to one of the cosy local restaurants.

We advise on the best flights to Romania and can arrange for you to be met at the airport. The nearest airport for this tour is Sibiu (SBZ).
